Updates

I have been neglecting this blog for a while now. A lot has happened since my last update. Let me start by explaining about my current job. Since I went back for good from UK I was unemployed for about 3 months, I attended a number of interviews until I was called by my current employer. The position that they were offering me was Associate Business Manager where I need to do Sales for the company. From the beginning I had made up my mind that I will not accept the offer if I get the job but im just attending the interview for the sake of fun since I was doing nothing at that moment. I had fun during the interview since the Board of Directors are sooo cool and funny, my BODs are actually practising medical doctors ( Nephrologist, Cardiologist and an ENT Surgeon how cool is that hehe) but their passion are property investment so they decided to form this company to help people to grow their property portfolio. But I know that there is no chance that I am going to work as a Sales person, not that im saying that it is not a good job but I could not afford to have a job that will pay me low basic pay and i need to depend on the commission. As you guys know I have MOUNTAIN of debt with my dad who sponsored my Masters fees in London and that does not come cheap. Since day one I decided to move back to KL I have decided that I will repay him my education expenses so at that particular moment even I kinda like the company and bosses I decided to decline the offer. After 2 months of being jobless it kinda freaked me out but my sweet cousin Kak Rina was saying nothing to be afraid of since once I start working I will be working for my entire life so it did calmed me down a bit. I went travelling around Malaysia n Indonesia a bit then I got a phone call from the same company and they want me to attend a second interview for the post of Marketing Manager. I never studied Marketing so even though I really wanted the job I am so sure I will not get it because the other candidate who attended the interview with me has a background in marketing but no harm in trying. Literally I sucked at the interview since the bosses want me to act as an emcee at a marketing roadshow. Aiyoo my Grandpa might be an actor but his talent definitely tak tumpah to me laa. I cannot act I literally chocked so at the end of the day im just like pasrah jela whatever happen I will just tawakal. Alhamdulillah the very next day I got a phone call from the personal manager saying that I got the job. I accepted the offer and starting from the 15th of December I work as the Marketing Manager of Propertycrown.com an online property portal. My first few weeks have been ok. As mentioned before, since my bosses are practising medical doctors they were never at the office. They will always be at the hospital and the main mode of communication is via email. So I had trouble finding my steps at the beginning since this is a new set up company so as a pioneer and with no marketing background I was lost but Alhamdulillah I got a very good CEO. He guides me well. He is basically my mentor guiding me step by step on how to be a good marketing manager. I have the highest respect towards him juggling between opening a clinic in Tropicana Medical Centre, an Oldtown White Coffee, two dialysis centres plus Propertycrown.com and yet he is still able to train me. I am not saying that I am successful now but I am so proud where I am now, never had I imagined at this age I have met and presented in front of mega developers company CEO, COO and even have their personal phone numbers and email in my phone book. The trust that my BODs put on me had made me so thankful. I have nothing to complain even though sometimes (most of the time actually) I am soooooo damnnn tired of working late and even during the weekend but masa muda la nak kerja keras kan.
